We know that our customers, suppliers and the communities in which our business operates all want to find ways to protect our environment. As an organisation, we continually seek opportunities to help strengthen the circular economy by ensuring that sustainability is at the forefront of everything we do and our customers have the necessary support to make sustainable choices.

As a member and supporter of APCO we are working towards the 2025 National Packaging Targets and aim to increase reusable, recyclable and compostable packaging, as well recycled content and the phasing out of problematic single-use plastics packaging.

Bunzl is honoured to have won the Our Packaging Future Award for Packaging Sustainability Education in the Industry Engagement category at the 2022 APCO Awards.

The award is granted to leaders in sustainability education who embody innovation in the space. Our sustainability awareness program includes fact sheets, staff training, sustainability ambassadors, range reviews and readily available expert advice for customers.

We are constantly developing and sourcing new products; working closely with our customers and suppliers in the development of new, redesigned or substantially improved products.

Our extensive and flexible supply chain offers our customers the opportunity to choose from a wide range of products to meet their commercial needs.
Our supply chain management process ensures these products are manufactured and sourced responsibly.

We develop and maintain supplier relationships that are ethical, based on mutual benefit and focused on a shared commitment to meet our customers’ requirements. We regard suppliers as partners and are committed to working with them to ensure that adequate standards are maintained in all areas of corporate responsibility.

Our modern slavery statement set out the steps that we are taking to ensuring that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in our supply chain or in any part of our business. We remain committed to working to eliminate any occurrence of modern slavery from our operations and our supply chain.

FSC Certification

As part of Bunzl’s drive towards providing more sustainable solutions, we offer a range of Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®-C117930) certified products across the washroom paper, food packaging and catering space.

The Forest Stewardship Council® is a global, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of responsible forest management. FSC® promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests.

In working with FSC® we can be assured that wood from the forests used meets the rigorous standards required, and can be tracked from forest to shelf. When you see the FSC label on our products, you can be assured that the paper or timber came from responsible monitored sources.
