"Meet Carolyn who works for our Bunzl Safety business as a Business Systems Manager. Carolyn began with Bunzl 5 years ago as an IT Business Analyst. Throughout her time she has been involved with merging three companies as the Technical Lead and now has two direct reports in her current role.
With an incredible 30 years of experience, Carolyn is a vital part of the team. She has spent much of her time implementing systems, consulting, project managing upgrades, merging and consolidating new companies in Australia and overseas.
She is proud of her achievements through an internal project OneBis which involved merging systems, where from a technical perspective everything ran smoothly. She has also been instrumental in the creation of a platform to allow employees to seize an opportunity to improve business processes, put ideas forward and see them come to life.
Each day, Carolyn and her team are helping the wider Safety business to solve problems and improve processes along the way. She is excited for a potential system upgrade, which of course compliments her daily strive to make life at Bunzl run smoothly and more efficiently."

"Ryan is a former Chef turned Hospitality Equipment Specialist. Ryan began in March 2014 as a store man at our hospitality depot. He was then asked to begin looking after the equipment in the shop. When this area closed, Ryan was given the chance to become an Equipment Specialist.
As part of this role, he was a key stakeholder in the opening of our own Innovation Centre, a purpose-built site housing our hospitality and catering products and equipment that allows our customers to test out what we have on offer.
Still driving the Innovation Centre, Ryan is now involved in project design and specification which enables him to work with customers, clients and architects to maximise the use of space.
Ryan loves the opportunities at Bunzl, they are ‘limitless’ as he says! His hard work is recognised and everyday is different keeping him on his toes from a project meeting for a half million dollar fit out, to a telco about getting material together for a sustainability range.
His most pivotal moment in his career at Bunzl so far (aside no longer having to work in the busy kitchen of a restaurant!), has been the opportunity to move from equipment sales, to looking after the project as a whole. This has allowed him to be involved with events such as Bunzl Flare and Fine Foods where he got to spend time with fellow Bunzl chefs."

"Sandy Jones began working with Sanicare over 12 years ago as Regional Manager in NSW. When Sanicare and Bunzl merged, Sandy embraced the role of Business Development Manager in Healthcare beginning her long career in sales. As part of her journey Sandy took on a territory role in Western Sydney and Country NSW and at the same time became a Key Account Manager looking after key corporate Aged Care Groups.
Finally, Sandy has settled back into a BDM role in Aged Care/Healthcare where she spends much of her time on the road providing support to customers helping them to achieve best practice outcomes to their residents whilst also sharing industry knowledge to help her customers be aware of new clinical trends. Sandy’s enthusiasm to put forward ideas and new initiatives has always been encouraged and supported by management, as well as her drive to upskill and develop having completed a number of development programs and training encouraged by her superiors.
Sandy is very enthusiastic about a one-of-a-kind product trial that she’s been lucky enough to be a part of which could be instrumental in the way continence is managed.
Sandy’s son recently made the comment ‘Mum, you love your job, don’t you?’ and upon reflection, Sandy confirmed she loves everything about it, the variety, building relationships and meeting different people along the way."

"Chris is part of our Interpath Services team that were acquired by Bunzl Australasia in 2017. Interpath is a market leader specialising in the sale and distribution of life science consumables for pathology, hospital, medical research and scientific markets.
Chris began with Interpath 12 years ago as an Account Manager, before being promoted to Victorian Sales Manager 7 years later.
Acknowledged for his hard work and dedication, his promotion has enabled him to enjoy all facets of the job including being out on the road visiting customers but also being in the office in the ‘homely-family like’ environment that is Interpath.
His promotion was a catalyst for increased motivation to work harder now having responsibility of managing employees whom report to him.
Throughout Bunzl’s acquisition of Interpath, Chris has been conscious of the upgrade to technology which has played a huge role in making their lives much easier. Bunzl has opened the doors for opportunities for Chris not only in technology, promotions and growth but also in access to new customers.
Of late, Chris has been heavily involved with manufacturers in Germany with regards to a new product which will see him travel to Cairns for an upcoming conference."

"Louise is another one of our employees who has spent most of her adult life with Bunzl. Beginning in 1997 as Marketing Manager, she moved on to various roles including Business Manager for Starbucks in Australia, a challenging, but rewarding position as they rolled out their stores across Australia. Following this, Louise moved to an analyst type role where she worked with integrating the businesses that Bunzl were acquiring. Following maternity leave, Louise came back part time before moving overseas with her family, to return once again 3 years later in Category Management and finally settling in her current role as Import Inventory Manager.
Louise has been supported by Bunzl’s long-term management, people that she has known for many years throughout her career. She has valued the opportunities for internal promotions and transitions to other roles not only for herself but for those around her who she has also seen grow and develop.
Everyday our teams are presented with new projects, new challenges and new opportunities to be involved in, something that Louise has taken advantage of.

"Kristy began her long career 19 years ago in customer service. A year later, she was out on the road in her first sales role in which she transitioned between multiple sales territories. Following three children, Kristy came back from maternity leave in 2011 as a Healthcare Sales Manager, her first leadership position. After the integration of an acquisition, Kristy moved to a NSW Sales Manager role, then becoming Regional Sales Manager and finally, is now our General Manager – Central Region.
Kristy has worked with us for most of her adult life but what she loves about Bunzl is the pace. Whether through acquisitions or new categories and products, our scope and size is forever growing. "Keith Khoo has been with Bunzl Australasia for just over 6 years, being his first professional job out of university. During this time, Keith has been at the forefront of many new digital transformation projects and is continually being challenged and learning new skills.
Apart from being an amazing photographer and former barista, Keith has a wealth of responsibility and experience under his belt. He was primarily in a support role with our online team, mainly focusing on maintenance and now, is heavily involved in the Bunzl online trading platform and even had the opportunity to travel to Germany to be trained in this area. This training allowed Keith to be an integral part of our new online store development. He has also had the opportunity to travel interstate meeting with our key customers and understanding their reliance on our online platforms. Keith has been amazed at how fundamental Bunzl is in ensuring the smooth running of our customers’ businesses.
Keith is excited for some upcoming opportunities he will be involved with. With the added scope of Asia into our group, Keith will be involved with our team in Singapore, LSH, who are in the process of creating an online store themselves. As well as this, a new content hub will be established to provide detailed information to really show the world what Bunzl do, what we know and how we can help."

"Wendy Yang is our first employee from our Bunzl Asia team involved in We Are Bunzl. Wendy is employed as the QA/QC Manager at our sourcing office known as Bunzl Trading (Shanghai) Limited in Pudong, Shanghai and started nearly 10 years ago.
She was first interviewed by Miriam Kershaw an Australian and former Director of the sourcing office for the position of a Senior Quality Engineer. A year later, she was promoted to QC Supervisor and within 3 months was promoted again to QA/QC Manager, a great achievement.
Wendy is excited by the opportunities provided to her by Bunzl which allow to her to learn and grow. Her involvement in the management team has greatly improved her English and built her confidence. Each year at Wendy’s site they have constant growth inviting new suppliers in from various Asian countries creating opportunities to improve processes. The diverse nature of the Bunzl group has given Wendy the involvement in the creation of a new lab to test more and various products.
Bunzl has enabled Wendy to learn many functions of the business rather than specialising in one particular area, she says the skills required are endless! Her development and growth is of upmost importance to Wendy, and it seems that Bunzl is ticking all the boxes to help her achieve this."

"Ryan Plant has been with Bunzl Safety since before Bunzl Safety even existed! Having started with one of the businesses that was eventually consolidated into what is now Bunzl Safety, Ryan has seen every step of the journey for the past 12 years; almost his entire working life!
He is currently based in Sydney as the Central Regional Manager, but got his start with the business in Adelaide working in Customer Care and Sales. He has also spent time running a branch, in a National Accounts role, and as National Sales Manager for Beaver Brands, another strong Bunzl business. This on-the-ground experience has imbued him with an important perspective that he carries with him, ensuring everything he does is grounded in the reality of the day-to-day pressures of the people he manages. He explained that even small changes to processes can result in big improvements that reduce frustration and increase job satisfaction; factors he knows are key to empowering his team to be their best.
When you’ve witnessed how far the business has come like Ryan has, it teaches you how great the capacity for growth and evolution truly is, and he’s excited to play a part in shaping what will be a bright future for Bunzl Safety."

"Roslyn Ninyette holds a Cert IV in Business Administration, works in Customer Care for Bunzl Safety, and is a Noongar woman. One of Bunzl Safety’s core values is Safety Dedication, and no one demonstrates that better than Roslyn in her 90-minute trek each way to get to and from work every day. She joined the team through a 12-month trainee program and upon its successful completion, a role was created for her in the Customer Care department where she has flourished since. This role and the colleagues that support her have given Roslyn the opportunity to broaden her skill set, learn on the job, and be mentored by teammates that are experts at what they do.
Next year all of our Perth branches for Bunzl Safety, Bunzl Outsourcing, and Bunzl Food Processor Supplies are going to be housed under one roof and Roslyn is looking forward to working alongside more of the Bunzl family and the improved service she’ll be able to provide to customers with these enhanced facilities."

"Meet Russell! Bunzl Outsourcing Services' Brisbane branch has been blessed with Russell’s magnanimous presence for an impressive 31 years! He’s had a range of roles in that time including Sales Manager, National BDM, and Regional BDM. His wealth of knowledge and experience has allowed him to not only develop strong customer relationships, but also mentor and nurture new staff, supporting their growth and training.
Last year Russell retired, with a view to volunteering or finding a part-time role. However, his retirement only lasted 4 weeks because Bunzl offered him an opportunity to re-join the team part-time. Rather than losing such a valuable asset and esteemed team member, Bunzl was able to be flexible and create a solution that worked for Russell and the business.
What keeps Russell engaged and passionate after all these years is the pursuit of new business, and the opportunity to bring new customers on board through his ‘polite, persistent, but never painful’ approach.
